Carl Jenkinson was born Carl Daniel Jenkinson on the 8th of February 1992 in Harlow, Essex, England and he was born to his English father Steve Jenkinson and to his Finland-Swedish mother Hayde Jenkinson and he grew up with an older brother named Marc Jenkinson and he was raised in Buckhurst Hill by both his parents.
Jenkinson attended Davenant Foundation School, which is located in Loughton and right from his High School days he always supported the London football club Arsenal and his dream was to one day play for the club.

Carl Jenkinson began his football career by playing for Charlton Athletic’s youth team side, he later went on to play for different teams in his senior career and they include; Charlton Athletic from 2010 to 2011 making 8 appearances, Welling United in 2010 making 10 appearances and Eastbourne Borough in 2010 making 4 appearances.
In 2011, he got signed by Arsenal F.C., he then went on to spend the 2014/2015 season on loan to West Ham United making 32 appearances, he spent the 2015/2016 on loan to West Ham United making 20 appearances, he spent the 2017/2018 season on loan to Birmingham City making 7 appearances.
In the national team side, Jenkinson featured in England U17 in 2008 making 1 appearance, in 2010 he played for Finland U19 making 3 appearances, in 2011 he played for Finland U21 making 1 appearance, from 2013 to 2015, he played for England U21 making 14 appearances and in 2012, he was called up to the England’s senior team.
