David Cassidy was born David Bruce Cassidy on the 12th of April, 1950 and he died on the 21st of November, 2017, he was born in Manhattan, New York, United States, he was born to singer and actor Jack Cassidy and actress Evelyn Ward, his father was half Irish and half German, while his mother was of American descent, Cassidy spent most of his early days under the care of his grandmother as his parents were always occupied with their career but his parents divorced in 1954 and he didn’t know about it until 1956.
His father, Jack Cassidy got married to actress and singer Shirley Jones in 1956 and the marriage resulted into the birth of his three half brothers named Shaun, Patrick and Ryan, in 1968, he moved to a rental home where he then lived with Jack Cassidy and his stepmother Shirley Jones in Irvington, New York and he had to grow up there with his half brothers.
It was while in Irvington, New York, that he began to pursue his career as an actor and singer, he also worked as a part-time worker at a textile firm, in 1969, with the help of his father, Cassidy got an opportunity to sing at the Universal Studios and his father also introduced him to his manager named Ruth Aarons who helped in shaping his career and as time went on he began to appear in few extra roles before he then made his big break in Hollywood and in his singing career.
