Jacida Carter is the mother of famous Hip Hop star Lil Wayne. She was born on October 30, 1962 in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. She grew up in Hollygrove, a New Orleans neighborhood located in the City’s 17^th ward. The neighborhood where she grew up in was popularly known for its poverty and high crime rate.

She met and started dating Dwayne Michael Turner during her high school days and they soon got married. When she was 19 years old, she began to work as a cook and had her first child and son named Dwayne Junior, who is popularly known today as Lil Wayne.
