Jonathan Simkhai was born on the 25th of September, 1982 in New York, United States and he was born to his father Osrich Simkhai and his mother Marvis Olsen.

Simkhai fell in love with fashion designing at the young age of 14 and it was also at this age that he was offered the opportunity to work as an assistant buyer at a local boutique and he excelled in the job, he was quickly promoted to a buyer and merchandiser for the Boutique.
After graduating from High School, he enrolled at Parsons and the Fashion Institute of Technology and it was at this Institute that he was able to perfect his fashion taste and skills.
In 2010, he launched his own fashion label; he also became a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and was inducted in 2015.
