Stephen Root was born on the 17th of November, 1951 in Sarasota, Florida, United States and he was born to a father named Rolland Clair Root, who worked as a Superintendent and site manager on civil engineering works and projects and to a mother named Leona Estelle, who worked as a homemaker, due to his father’s work, his family was always on the move, as he spent most part of his early days in both United States and Mexico.
Root attended the Vero Beach High School, which is located in Vero Beach, Florida, he later attended the University of Florida, where he graduated with a degree, he later attended an acting School and immediately after graduating from College, Root began to appear in broadways and eventually made it to the screen.
