Kid Capri started his DJ career at a very young age and he was inspired into the career by his father David Love Sr., a musician. By the time he was 8 years old, he was also popular at block parties and he adopted his stage name from a girl he used to date a long time ago. His famous days began after he joined Studio 54 and began to sell his mixtapes. He has Deejayed for Def Comedy Jam and he has also collaborated with Boogie Down Productions, Heavy D, Big L, Grand Puba and many others. He released an LP on Warner Brothers Record titled The Tape and he did so in 1991. In 1993, he appeared in the film Who’s the Man?.

In 1997, he appeared Puff Daddy and The Family tour and this earned him a music deal with Track Master’s Columbia Records. He later founded his own music record label called No Kid’n Records and in 2007, he appeared on Rock The Bells. He has featured as a judge on Smirnoff’s Master of the Mix, the BET reality TV. In 2012, he remixed Masterpiece, which is an exclusive track featured on the special Smirnoff Nightlife Edition of Madonna’s album called MDNA.
