Lauren Velez was born Luna Lauren Velez on the 2nd of November, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York, United States and she was born to her father named Sammy Velez, a Puerto Rican who moved to Brooklyn in the late 1950’s and to her mother named Luisa Velez and she grew up with six sisters including her twin sister, Lorraine Velez and a brother.
Lauren Velez attended Alvin Ailey Dance School and she later attended an acting School, which was where she perfected her acting skills.
