Michelle Yeoh was born Michelle Yeoh Choo-Kheng on the 6th of August, 1962 in Ipoh, Perak, Federation of Malaya and she was born to a Chinese family, she is of Hokkien and Cantonese descent and her parents are named Janet Yeoh, her mother and Yeoh Kian Teik, her father and he is a lawyer and MCA Politician, Yeoh began to dance at the very young age of four, by the time she was 15 years old, she relocated to United Kingdom with her parents and was enrolled into a boarding School.
Yeoh later attended the Royal Academy of Dance which is located in London and it was there that she perfected her dancing talents, her dream was to become a very successful Professional ballet dancer but she sustained a spine injury and this prevented her from achieving her dreams, along the line, she developed a lot of interest in acting and Choreography, she then went on to enroll at a University and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Creative Arts and a minor in Drama.
