Russell Hornsby was born on the 15th of May, 1974 in Oakland, California, United States, while growing up; Hornsby wanted to pursue a career as a football player as he played for St. Mary’s College High School in Berkeley, California, but while in High School, he auditioned for a musical and after starring as Scarecrow in the musical titled The Wiz, he became very interested in acting and from then, he got actively involved in every School productions.
He attended Boston University, where he graduated with a degree in Theatre studies and he then went on to study at the British American Drama Academy.
