Shea Whigham was born Franklin Shea Whigham Jr. on the 5th of January, 1969 in Tallahassee, Florida, United States and he was born to a father named Frank Whigham, who worked as an attorney and a mother named Beth Whigham, who worked as a School Librarian, he and his family later relocated to Lake Mary, Florida at the age of five.
Shea Whigham attended the Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, but he later transferred to the State University of New York, which is located at Purchase, New York, while at the School, he enrolled into an acting program and right after graduating from the School, he co-founded the New York City Theatre Troupe called The Rorschach Group alongside his roommate and friend named Kirk Acevedo and he worked as an actor and artistic director for the troupe for three years.
